When an employee clocks/punches in they are issued a digitial punch card.
This punch card is considered as being active/live until either it expires after 24 hours or until the employee clocks out.
The punch card will then be automatically updated whenever the employee records any further actions such taking a break and then returning from said break.
When the employee clocks/punches out the punch card will be closed off and a time sheet entry will be created.
If the employee was on a scheduled shift, the data from the shift will then be used to create the entry. Any amendments that need to be made due to starting/finishing a shift early or late will be made automatically.
Should a senior member of staff amend the clock/punch in/out times then the linked time sheet entry will also be updated.
If the employee wasn't on a scheduled shift then the system will generate a blank time sheet entry based upon the clock/punch in/out times.
