Manage your employee client lists from within their employee record.
Key Points
When managing employee clients, the main points to be aware of are.
- Each employee can be responsible for multiple clients.
- Employees can either be a client 'Team Member' or 'Manager'.
- You can specify when an employee is responsible for a client and what role they have using the
effective (from/to) dates.
- Though the effective (from/to) dates are optional, they could prove useful should need to
speak to an employee about a client.
- In order to manage employee client assignments, you must be granted access to do so.
- You can prevent users from accessing the records of clients they aren't responsible for.
Step-by-step
See below for a step-by-step guide on creating new client assignments, updating existing client assignments
and deleting assignments.
Assigning a new client
- Navigate to the 'Workforce' area using the system menu.
- Use the search to find the employee that you wish to update.
- Click/press the 'Manage' button.
- You can use the one in the right hand panel or the one in the list.
- Once the employee record has loaded, go to the 'Clients' tab and click/press 'New'.
- Search for the client that needs to be assigned to the employee.
- Click/press the 'Select' button.
It is possible that the client has already been assigned to the employee, if this is the case then the
next part will be skipped over.
- You will now see the 'Employee Client Editor' screen.
- At this point you can change the employee/client assignment.
- Once you're happy with your selection, click/press 'Save & Close'.
You will now be presented with the 'Employee Client View'. If the client was already assigned you might
not need to do anything at this point.
- Click/press the 'New' button under the 'Item Details' header.
- Select the role that the employee will perform from the list.
- Specify the effective (from/to) dates for the assignment.
- This is entirely optional, but it could prove useful further down the line.
- Click/press the 'Save & Close' button.
Updating an existing assignment (change assigned client)
The following steps describe how to assign a different client and should only be followed if the
original selection was incorrect.
- Navigate to the 'Workforce' area using the system menu.
- Use the search to find the employee that you wish to update.
- Click/press the 'Manage' button.
- You can use the one in the right hand panel or the one in the list.
- Once the employee record has loaded, go to the 'Clients' tab and click/press and find the record you
wish to update.

Click/press the down arrow next to the 'View' button and select 'Edit'.
- Alternatively, you can also click/press 'View' then open the editor from there.
- Make the required changes.
- Click/press the 'Save & Close' button.
Updating an existing assignment (keep assigned client)
The following steps describe how to update the client assignment and assume that you do not wish
to change the assigned client.
- Navigate to the 'Workforce' area using the system menu.
- Use the search to find the employee that you wish to update.
- Click/press the 'Manage' button.
- You can use the one in the right hand panel or the one in the list.
- Once the employee record has loaded, go to the 'Clients' tab and click/press and find the record you
wish to update.

Click/press the 'View' button.
At this point you can either add a new item and update or delete an existing item.
To create a new item.
- Click/press the 'New' button under the 'Item Details' header.
- Select the role that the employee will perform from the list.
- Specify the effective (from/to) dates for the assignment.
- This is entirely optional, but it could prove useful further down the line.
- Click/press the 'Save & Close' button.
To update an existing item.
- Find the item that you wish to update in the list.

Click/press the down arrow next to the 'View' button and select 'Edit'.

To delete an existing item.
- Find the item you wish to delete.
- Click/press the down arrow next to the 'View' button and select 'Delete'.

Deleting an assigment
- Navigate to the 'Workforce' area using the system menu.
- Use the search to find the employee that you wish to update.
- Click/press the 'Manage' button.
- You can use the one in the right hand panel or the one in the list.
- Once the employee record has loaded, go to the 'Clients' tab and find the assignment you wish to
delete.
- Click/press the down arrow next to the 'View' button and select 'Delete'.
- When prompted, click/press the 'Delete' button on the confirmation dialog.
